Christmas Blogger Swap

by Matt on December 23, 2010

Tuesday night, I was welcomed with a package from one of my favorite .

For the past few months, I have been getting to know from . If you have not checked out her blog, head over there and check it out.

Since I do not have a Trader Joe’s within 1000 miles of me, we did a little Christmas swap and she sent me a few things.

  • Gluten free granola (I am not gluten free, but this stuff is crack)
  • Peanut butter pretzels
  • Peanut flour
  • Cashew cookie Larabar

She must have read my nut butter post ;)

I really hope she likes her !

How can someone not like ridiculous looking socks?

Thanks Jen! You are totally awesome!

Have you received any great gifts yet this year?

Fueled by deliciousness, I have had some great workouts the past few days.

Wednesday

Running: 10 miles (7:59 pace)

Spinning: 60 minutes ride outside

A day off of work can only mean one thing: a long workout :)

I took advantage of the nice weather (hello 60′s!) and did a medium distance run + an hour long ride. After riding on my trainer for the past few weeks due to the cold weather, it felt nice to get outside and ride (and run).

Thursday

Running: 7 miles (6:32 pace)

Weights: 30 minutes (and ITB exercises)

I have ran this fast in MONTHS.

You know what?

It felt oh so good.

I really feel like I am in the best shape of my life right now even though I feel like I am not running that much.

I think I am ready to introduce speed work back into my life. Knee, please hold up. You feel fine right now, but I really do not want you to show your ugly face to me. As long as I am diligent with my exercises, I think I can beat you down ;)

One thing I have noticed with an increase in training is that I want to sleep more. I normally get around 7-8 hours per night, but I usually take about an hour or two nap every other day. I feel great, but I just feel like I need more sleep.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I told my husband that I really wanted a food processer. He’s not the best at hiding gifts…in plain sight. Haha. I can’t wait to use it! :-)

Yes! With an increase in training, I always feel the need to increase my sleep too. :D

I hope your knee holds up for you! My knee has been feeling pretty good lately too, so hopefully (*fingers crossed*) the half is in my future. :D

I get more tired with extra exercise too. It makes sense though- our bodies need more time to repair themselves! Hope your knee holds up!
