Running = Love

by Matt on January 21, 2010

Tomorrow is Friday :) I am really ready for the damn weekend to get here.

I had a nice and easy run today…

Time: 1:24:18

Distance: 10.56 miles

Average Pace: 7:59 per mile

I squeaked in under an 8:00 mile!

Today, the weather is absolutely perfect. We had some nasty weather really early this morning, but luckily it cleared out before my run. I heard some of the loudest thunder of my life while I was trying to sleep last night. It was crazy and I kept thinking to myself “I really hope I don’t have to run in this shit”. But right now, I have my windows open and I wore shorts today. Sometimes I love Alabama weather… Sometimes I hate it too though.

After yesterdays 15 miles, my legs were a little tired this morning. I usually do a tempo run on Thursdays, but I think I am going to skip this week. I might actually do it tomorrow though if I am feeling good. I will have to make a game time decision; we all know I NEVER stick to a plan. I am more of an “outline” type of person. I like to go by feel.

Like I said earlier, the weather was really nice and I was excited to get out there. Today was one of those days where I just really wanted to run. You would think I would get tired of it, but I really don’t. I know I do it every single day, but the drive is just as strong, if not stronger, than the day I became addicted to running. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. I will have to tell you guys about it sometime. Anyways, today’s run was just perfect. The weather was great, I really wanted to run, and I felt good. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. It even put me in a good mood for work ;)

Before I knew it, the run was over.

It is 8:30 and I am almost ready for bed. Isn’t that sad? At least I only have one more 5 AM wake up this week. I am really looking forward to running tomorrow though so I really don’t care. The sooner the better!

It would be cool to hear about the beginning of your addiction to running. :) And 8:30 is totally and okay time to go to bed. It’s 8:50 over here in CA and i’m feeling the day!
