Freezing My Tail Off

When I woke up this morning, I could tell that it was going to be pretty frosty outside! This time of year, I can usually tell what the weather outside is like due to the temperature inside my apartment because I turn off the heater. When it is really cold in my apartment, it is usually pretty cold outside. Common sense right? Well today it was pretty cold in my apartment. It made getting out from under my warm blanket quite difficult.

However, you gotta do what you gotta do and I dragged myself up just like every morning. Today wasn’ too bad though. I got to bed around 10 so I had a decent amount of sleep. I rolled out of bed, got dressed and hit the roads. Today I wore shorts, a long sleeve Nike shirt, a light jacket, and some gloves. I think it was around 35-40 degrees, but I felt a little chilly. I think we are starting to get towards tights weather…

The first few miles were FREEZING. I forgot to wear a hat and my ears seriously felt like there were about to fall off! Luckily I wore my gloves and my hands were alright. Usually when it’s cold, my hands and face feel it the worst. Today it was my ears. Not to self: wear a hat tomorrow.

Other than me being really cold for the first few miles, my run was bangin. I was awake, fresh, and motivated today for some reason. I was actually due for an awesome run because the last few have been just “alright”. Not bad, but not great either. It is nice to know that good runs can happen at 5 AM.

I had originally planned on an easy 7-8 miles because I thought I needed some recovery, but my legs wanted to run an extra loop. I gave in and let them of course ;) It is amazing that I am still feeling great after so many runs in a row. I actually don’t think I have a rest day since I started running again after the marathon. That is about 3.5 weeks….

I also had an awesome afternoon! I got a free drink at Starbucks, did really well on my English test, and Criminal Minds is on tonight. Not a bad humpday for me :)

Now I am just at work and chilling out. Only an hour until I get off!

Anyone else addicted to Criminal Minds? I seriously love that show. I will be glued to the TV at 8 PM.

I had a rocking 5:30 am spin class. 45 minutes of torture led by an Ironman triathlete. Love a good hard am work out!

congrats on the series of runs. No rain tomorrow so I WILL get my 5 miles in!

What’s considered cold in Alabama?? I’m sure the mornings can be chilly.

Can’t beat free Starbucks!

Eeek, it’s starting to get cold isn’t it. I’m just happy that I don’t have to run at 5 in the morning…then I’d really be freezing my patooty off! Glad to hear your humpday was good.

I prefer “Law and Order:SVU” to “Criminal Minds”, but I never say no to some good detective/cop shows.

I bet your nose turned pink yesterday!

Way to get out there even though you aren’t used to the cold. You’ll get there. Being from Florida, I never thought I could get used to running in the cold and snow, but, like you said, you do what you have to do.
