I NEED SLEEP!

Hello! Happy Saturday!

Time: 1:10:36

Distance: 9.13 miles

Average Pace: 7:44

So far, this has been my longest run since the Chicago Marathon. It is crazy to think that two weeks ago I ran 26.2 miles. If you would have told me a year ago that I would be running a marathon, I would have called you crazy! I’ve always been interested in sports (I played competitive tennis in high school) and being active, but I used to HATE running. In high school I would dead after two miles. My coaches always knew that the best way to keep me in line was to threaten me with running. Haha.

I also slept like absolute crap last night. It was either that my bedroom was too hot (I felt really sweaty), I had a lot on my mind, or the insane party that was going on below me. I headed to bed around midnight and the girl who lives below me decided to have a party until 4 AM. I was pretty ticked. I was so wide awake at 5 AM that I just got up and ran. Not much else to do at that hour.

It was pretty chilly when I first started; I think we got a cold front over night because the weather has been in the 70’s all week. It was nice to have the cooler weather though. I think it was around 45 degrees? Perfect for running. I have actually come to ENJOY the cooler weather after this summer. It was like running through hell and I am so glad I have some time to cool off!

My legs felt really good and my knee held up fine. I think at this point I am getting more discomfort from the tape then my actual knee. The tape is far from comfortable, but it keeps my kneecap in place, so I have been dealing with it. I am kind of afraid to take it off. It is really itchy and it pulls on the hair on my legs when I move my knee drastically. It is also far from a fashion statement. At least it was a little cooler today so I could wear pants around!

So that is pretty much that. I am enjoying the shorter daily runs, but I am sure I will be anxious to up my miles a little bit pretty soon, but not quite yet. I plan on keeping it easy all week and possibly doing a double distance run next weekend. I want to slowly ease back into things once I get my next race figured out. I plan on doing some shorter races this winter, but nothing major.

I am for sure doing the Mercedes Marathon though. I already signed up :)

Enjoy your weekend! It is going to be an early night for me! I am wiped!
