Gloomy

Can you recall that I have been raving about the weather all week? Well I will not be raving today. The weather has been absolute crap.

I was awake a little bit before my alarm this morning and I was really not looking forward to it going off. Have you ever just been laying there in bed knowing that the alarm is going to start beeping any second? I seriously hate that. Especially because I could hear the rain outside drizzling at my window. I knew it was a light rain, but it was kind of chilly out and rain + cold is not fun. I can run in the rain and I can run in the cold but running in the rain AND cold is not fun.

When the alarm finally went off, it actually took some convincing to roll out of bed. After two snooze buttons and a lot of whining I was lacing up my shoes to hit the streets. Luckily it really wasn’t raining that hard and it actually felt kind of good after awhile. Because of my procrastination in bed this morning, I only had about an hour to run; it was an awesome run though. I took a new route and ended up running in a park where I discovered a lot of other runners. It was a nice path that had plenty of water fountains and shade. I will definitely remember this route when I am doing long runs again hopefully next month.

At least I didn’t trip on a pumpkin today ;)

After my run I did my core workout, which I am going to try to do everyday but AT LEAST 5 days a week, and my PT exercises. It is a ton of stretching! I seriously never stretch so this is a new thing for me. I can actually touch my toes now…

The rest of the day was pretty gloomy. It isn’t too cold out, but it is cloudy, windy, and rainy. I seriously hate days like this. It makes me just want to lay on the couch and eat soup. Haha.

Yes, you are my inspiration for pancakes!! Ughhh – I totally know what you mean about the alarm going off and knowing it’s going off soon. It’s sooo dark here in the mornings too and cold. I went out after work and it was chilly – but I am so glad I went because (even though I was tired 1/2way through – need that Mr. Roller :) – but it was so good to run through leaves and feel the fresh air. Awesome run by the way !! Oh and I am drooooling over that Cordon Bleu – I only have to come here to get all my new ideas – love it :) !

it was windy, rainy, and miserable in georgia today, too. no run for me, but i did make it to a spin class (the only fun indoor exercise!).

p.s. i just found your blog, and its blowing my mind that you are a boy and you cook and eat so well. i don’t know any other boys that would ever think of making whole wheat pumpkin pancakes for breakfast! also, i really want to make your black bean chili + sweet potato biscuits sometime soon :)

i look forward to reading more!

Ugh, cold morning rain is the worst. I’m almost ready for it to just turn into winter so we can be done with this cold+rain business.

I think it’s even worse when you wake up in the middle of the night and think you still have hours left to sleep, but then your alarm goes off! Ah terrible.

I hope the gloom goes away soon…

Add me to the list of people who want to curl up on the couch on cold rainy days. And it’s been like that a lot here recently.
