Weekly Run-Down: 9/21/09-9/27/09

Time: 9:33:44

Distance: 74.45 miles

Average Pace: 7:42 per mile

Not exactly a “taper” week, but it was easier than most weeks have been. I will take what I can get and I still have two weeks to settle down. I felt pretty good this week which is a confidence booster.

Taper Week 1

Monday: 9 miles DONE

Tuesday: 8 miles

Wednesday: 6 miles

Thursday: 8 miles (5 tempo)

Friday: 6 miles

Saturday: 8-10 miles

Sunday: NONE

Total: 47 miles

You know I am tapering when I schedule a rest day.

As of now, that is how the week is looking. Taper week 2 will be even less. Maybe somewhere around 30 miles or less? I’ll figure it out once I get there.

I seriously have butterflies in my stomach. I can’t believe I am running the Chicago Marathon in 13 days!

Good luck surviving taper hell. Maybe this is the perfect time to cook some new, complicated recipes to get your mind off not running so much.

Tapering is going to be tough but it is SO necessary. Find something to distract you for the next couple of weeks and rest those legs. 13 days and this will all be over!

eh, no big deal. i’m personally a two-week taper person myself so i think you’ll still be fine.

this week and next you have no excuses for bad grades with all this extra study time :)
