Friday :)

Average Pace: 7:55 per mile

I did NOT want to get out of bed this morning. This has been a very long week with 4 tests and I am pretty much running on fumes. After laying there for a few minutes, I decided to get my butt moving. I knew that I would have plenty of time for a nice long nap after my morning classes. That was enough to get me out of bed. I also knew that I was going for a run!

Once I got going, my run felt fine; it was pretty good actually. My first mile was dreadfully slow (around 8:30) but I was really tired and my legs were cranky. They wanted to be in bed. Lucky for me running really wakes me up and it really got me going. I was pretty alert all morning and felt great until I crashed this afternoon. After the first mile, I pretty much just cruised. No aches and pains today either. I love days like this.

After my morning classes, I took a nice three hour nap. It felt epic. There are no words to describe how good it felt. I am still tired, but I have the weekend to get some more sleep. I’m not going to the game tomorrow because…

  1. I don’t have a ticket.
  2. It is suppose to rain. I am not sitting in the rain for 3 hours.
  3. I would rather watch it while laying on my couch with a beer, some popcorn, and my friends.

I was also happy to find out that I got a 94 on my Geology test when the class average was a 71. I thought I bombed that test too. I didn’t study much, but I was one of the few people who actually went to class. I find the tests require much less studying when you go to class. I had to find that out the hard way.

I have a long run planned for tomorrow and I am hoping the weather holds up. It has been pouring all day and it looks pretty grim for tomorrow. I am NOT running 18 miles in the rain again. I had to do that a few weekends ago and it was torture. If it is raining, I will run easy and move my long run to Sunday. I am all about the flexibilty!

Enjoy your Friday night fellow bloggers! I am actually getting ready to put on a movie and pass out. I am shot!

Hey I’m in Geology of CA! My first test is Tuesday. I have to say, I’m finding the class a bit difficult. Normal faults and reverse faults…AHHH! Congrats on such an awesome grade! I like your idea of how to watch the football game (i’m assuming it’s football :) ) Couch + beer + vegging out= good times!

Football in the rain definitely sounds like a crappy way to spend a Saturday. (Though I am biased because I don’t go to football games in nice weather, either.)

And re: your comment–I am, indeed, running the full Chicago marathon next month. What days are you planning on being up in Chicago-land for the race?

Glad to know that you’re normal and have off days while running.
Great job on your geology test. I knew going to class was a good thing. ;-)
