Feeling Good

by Matt on August 24, 2009

I woke up this morning and I wasn’t that sore. Kind of weird!

Time: 1:06:07

Distance: 8.69 miles

Average Pace: 7:36 per mile

I woke up about a half hour late today so I had to speed up and cut some mileage. Cutting mileage was probably a smart idea anyways, even though I had to speed up. It was a good recovery distance.

It was a really good run. I think it was actually under 60 degrees when I started. I can’t even remember the last time the weather felt this nice. I stepped outside and it felt cold! It wasn’t cold out, but it was just the complete opposite of what I am used to. It also makes running a lot easier; today’s run felt almost effortless. Thank God I didn’t break anything over the weekend. It is always hard to tell if anything is hurting after a long run because your whole body hurts. I usually can’t tell until the next day. My Achilles tendon is a little sore, but nothing major. It gets like that when I need to change my shoes but it will be fine after some ice and foam roller action. Time to bust out a new pair tomorrow. I can’t believe it’s already time!

Not much else to report. Today was pretty standard and I need to get started on some homework.

Have a good night everyone!

I know exactly how you feel about the weather- it’s not cold, but it’s just not the same hotness hot. I think it was 59 for me today, and yeah it seems a tad bit nippy out but it’s so good for running.

heh, so it takes an accidental oversleeping to get you to return to the single digits :P time for me to bust out a new pair of shoes too!

Sounds like you had a good run today, even if you did have to cut it short. I love running in new shoes, if I were rich I would run in a new pair everyday (probably every week or month realistically..) But yeah, take care of that achilles tendon!

umm not that surprising that you’ve gone through another pair of shoes already! hello, it only takes you like a week to rack up a couple hundred miles :)

and wait, what? you cut a run SHORT? what?!?!? ;)

Be careful with that achilles…I have heard horribly painful sounding stories about achilles tendon injuries.
